The first season of “Clash Royale” is here and its arrival brought with it a host of chances, including a legendary troop that will introduce a new mechanic. What’s more, the game will also be featuring it's first ever Battle Pass called Pass Royale.
Similar to what’s been seen with the likes of “Fortnite” and “Apex Legends,” this “Clash Royale” pass will provide players with a chance to earn more rewards throughout the season. Keep in mind, however, that the rewards will be limited-time and will only last around 28 to 35 days.
Cosmetics, tower skins, emotes, and additional chests that can be earned are just some of the goodies offered by the “Clash Royale.” The pass will also give players the perk to infinitely retry Special Challenges; the freedom to queue a chosen chest, and turn their username to gold, Express reported.
“Clash Royale” introduces the fisherman
As for the aforementioned new legendary troop of “Clash Royale,” it’s called the Fisherman, a ground unit that cost four elixirs and has the grapple ability. It works in two ways. First, he can hook an opposing unit towards him, opening up creative maneuvers both in offense and in defense. Second, he can grapple himself to building to travel from point A to B quickly.
The Fisherman is a great way to activate the King’s Tower early in the game by pulling, say, a Hog Rider that’s barreling towards one of your towers. Aside from the new legendary troop and reward, “Clash Royale” Season 1 will also bring with it balance changes that have been requested by the community, InvenGlobal reported.
“Clash Royale” nerfs and buffs certain units
First up is the Barbarian Barrel, arguably the best spell in the game on account that it can clear troops easily and act as a pressure for the opposing side. The BB will be seeing a nerf, decreasing 33 percent of its width so it wouldn’t clear troops just as easily. “Clash Royale” Season 1 will also be increasing the effectiveness of the Goblin Cage. The box’s lifespan will be upped by 25 percent, while the goblin itself will have its damage increase by the same amount.
Last, are the Cannon Cart and the Cannon building. The former will have its damage reduce by 17 percent, although its hit points, speed, and range will be seeing a slight upgrade. When the cart breaks and the cannon turns into a building, its damage will be increased by 32 percent but will suffer a 25 percent slower fire rate. The changes mentioned when the Cannon becomes a building will be applied to the Cannon card as well. With regards to the price of the “Clash Royale” pass, it’s been tagged at the cost of $4.99 a month.
