‘Chicago Med’ season 2’s episode 17, titled “Monday Mourning,” may feature the suicide of a major character. Meanwhile, doctors Choi and Halstead will disagree over the treatment of a patient suffering stroke symptoms.
The synopsis for “Monday Mourning” posted on TV Guide reads, “A suicide shakes the staff; Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) and Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) face off over how to treat a patient with stroke symptoms; family turmoil unfolds when a boy is treated after falling in a river; the importance of learning from mistakes is emphasized to Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo).”
According to Cartermatt, the upcoming episode of season 2 of NBC’s medical drama television series may feature the shocking death of a major character. The character is set to take his own life, considering the preview from the episode synopsis. The suicide will have a profound effect on the rest of the medical staff of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.
The promo also teases Dr. Natalie Manning’s breakdown (Torrey DeVito). It seems that the pediatrician will succumb to pressure in the hospital. Dr. Manning is a widowed mother coping with the loss of her husband, who was killed on the field during his time serving the U.S. military.
Dr. Manning is set to treat a young boy who fell in a river in the upcoming episode while Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) examines the man who saved the boy’s life. Dr. Manning will have to watch family turmoil begin to unfold before her eyes.
Meanwhile, Dr. Choi and Dr. Halstead will butt heads over the treatment of a patient suffering stroke symptoms. In one scene from the promo, Dr. Choi accuses Dr. Halstead of not giving the patient the right kind of treatment that she needs. He tells his colleague angrily, “You’re not willing to do what the patient needs!”
‘Chicago Med’ season 2’s episode 17, titled “Monday Mourning,” is scheduled to air on NBC on March 16, 2017. It will be followed by episode 18, titled “Lesson Learned,” scheduled to be released on March 30.
