The countdown to the release of “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” is winding down. As usual, PC gamers have a few more details to keep in mind in preparation for the title’s arrival. The good news is the official system requirements have been released with enough time before the game launches next month.
‘Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’ PC system requirements
Thanks to powerful PC rigs in the market, high-end gaming settings are not limited to console players. “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” can also play at up to 4K gaming resolution as long players have the right specs.
The minimum requirements to run “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” are not intimidating specs at all. The game will run even on a 64-bit Windows 7 PC, Intel Core i3-4340 / AMD FX-6300, 8GB RAM, 50GB to 175GB storage, and video cards with the same or better specs as Nvidia GeForce GTX 670, GTX 1650, or AMD Radeon HD 7950.
It goes without saying that “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” players should not expect much if they rely on this setup. As it is called “minimum,” these specs should be just enough to run the game but do not anticipate high framerates or resolution.
Activision and Treyarch also released quite an extensive guide for the “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” PC requirements for other preferred settings and gaming experience. There are two “Recommended” specs, one that is just enough to run “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” at 60fps framerate with all visual and animation options set at Medium and another for those who want ray tracing. There is also a “Competitive” setup for “high FPS” and the “Ultra RTX” rig to experience 4K resolution with ray tracing.
‘Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’ release date, other system supported
“Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” will be released on Friday, Nov. 13, on all platforms where it is launching. The game will still be available on current-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is playable on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, although the latter will not be released until Nov. 19 in some regions.
