“Bosch” Season 5 is expected to return on Amazon Prime this Spring as production has already wrapped up back in November. The fifth installment will be basing its story on Michael Connelly’s novel “Two Kinds of Truth.”
There will be two major overarching plot that “Bosch” Season 5 will follow. The first is Harry going after a drug syndicate led by one Dalton Walsh (Chris Vance). Vance will be the newest addition to the cast of the police procedural and will play the major antagonist for this installment, Den of Geek reported.
The other plotline of “Bosch” Season 5 will be centered around a death row inmate claiming that he’s been framed by the titular detective. This is where Matthew McConaughey’s name enters the picture. The inclusion of the actor stems from the fact that Harry has been represented by his half-brother in the book, Mickey Haller.
And since McConaughey portrayed this character back in 2011 in the film “The Lincoln Lawyer,” fans have been asking if he’ll be included in “Bosch” Season 5. The problem is that Amazon doesn’t own the rights to Haller, which means the charismatic yet somewhat sleazy lawyer won’t be making his way into the series.
In lieu of Haller, Chandler (Mimi Rogers) will be the one representing Harry in court. Working alongside her will be Hector Bonner (Ryan Hurst), another addition to the series’ ensemble. Bonner is a former client of Chandler and will be acting as her private eye in “Bosch” Season 5.
Together, the three of them will be finding holes to the story of the abovementioned inmate. What really makes “Bosch” Season 5 a compelling story to follow is how the public will turn against Harry. And with the inmate’s accusations hanging over the detective’s head, the other criminals that Harry has placed behind bars will also be clamoring for a retrial on grounds that they too have been framed. As for the show’s future, Amazon has already ordered a sixth installment for the series although no news yet as to what plotlines this entry will follow.
