Boruto and Sarada are still training while Mitsuki is nursing a serious injury after they had a difficult battle against Deepa. The enemy emerged unharmed from that fight and will not enter a new scuffle, this time, against the teams of Shikadai and Shinki from Sunagakure in “Boruto” episode 169.

‘Boruto’ episode 169 preview, spoilers

At this point, anime fans should already know that there will be serious trouble whenever Deepa appears and he is confirmed to return in “Boruto” episode 169. The upcoming episode is titled “A Joint Mission with the Sand” referring to the collaboration between Konoha’s Team 10 composed of Shikadai, Cho-Cho, and Inojin, and Suna’s team led by Shinki with Yodo and Araya.

The “Boruto” episode 169 video teaser hints at Inojin not completely on board with working with Shinki and his team, but they have no choice since the site of their mission is in the Land of Wind. Naruto summons Shikadai to given him the mission of retrieving the Otsutsuki Clan puppet he once fought.

The same video preview shows Team 10 traveling to Suna and meeting with Shinki’s team. They will arrive at the desert where the puppet is likely located, but the mission is not as easy it sounds. “Boruto” episode 169 teaser shows Deepa will also be in the same location, most likely tasked to retrieve the same thing. He starts to attack the Konoha and Suna shinobi, and it is interesting to see how these teams would square up against the seemingly invincible member of Kara.

‘Boruto’ episode 169 release date, where to watch

Meanwhile, Sarada and Boruto’s training continues in “Boruto” episode 169. It can be recalled that Boruto has had some success in improving his Rasengan while Sarada is working on acquiring one more tomoe so she could execute Chidori and use Sharingan to better anticipate her opponent’s moves. As Sasuke pointed out in the last episode, awakening another tomoe would require her to be in an extreme emotional state to achieve that. Since the training is done in a controlled environment, one has to wonder how Sasuke will help her daughter achieve that goal.

New episodes are released every Sunday, and “Boruto” episode 169 will air on Oct. 11. Fans outside Japan can watch through streaming platforms Crunchyroll and Hulu.
