This month’s installment of “Boruto: Naruto Next Generation” was worth all the hype. It confirmed one of the long-running theories about the series that Kashin Koji is a cloned body of Jiraiya. Moving forward, it would not be surprising if Naruto feels a certain way that would convince him to save the Koji in “Boruto” chapter 48.
Amado still needs to answer how he managed to clone Jiraiya
Amado fulfilled his promise of showing Konoha how to kill an Otsutsuki, and he did so with a live demonstration. Kashin Koji’s fight pushed Isshiki to complete his reincarnation using Jigen’s body. As a result, his karma on other vessels such as Kawaki has been automatically erased. This means to kill Isshiki Otsutsuki is now possible without the fear of seeing him reincarnated through Kawaki. However, it is safe to say that this is not the only major turning point in chapter 47.
With Kashin Koji confirmed as Jiraiya’s clone, fans will naturally want more answers in “Boruto” chapter 48, and Amado remains the only person who can give that. It was established in earlier chapters that he created Kashin Koji just like Delta, so he should be able to explain who he got Jiraiya’s DNA. This part of the story might not be the most important right now but it is something that fans -- and even Naruto -- might not let go that easily.
At the very least, “Boruto” chapter 48 could dedicate a few panels for Amado to clarify how he got Jiraiya’s DNA and if he also created backup Koji bodies as he did with Delta. Meanwhile, many fans are starting to suspect that Amado got Jiraiya’s cells from someone inside Konoha such as Orochimaru.
Will Naruto want to save Kashin Koji?
Even before Kashin Koji was unmasked, Naruto showed real concern about his safety. Amado made it clear that his collaborator was not fully aware of the danger of antagonizing and fighting Jigen. It cannot be ruled out that he might want to help Koji in “Boruto” chapter 48.
There are several reasons why this might not happen, though. First, Naruto will need Sasuke’s space-time jutsu to reach Koji and Isshiki. The latter is being the voice of reason in chapter 47 and knowing the risks, he might not be on board in meddling with the fight. Second, the basis of this theory is that Naruto would be more concerned because Koji is Jiraiya’s clone. However, the live feed was cut before the mask was removed, which means Naruto still does not know who Kashin Koji really is.
‘Boruto’ chapter 48 release date, where to read
“Boruto” chapter 48 will be released on Monday, July 20. Fans around the world can read it through the official websites of Manga Plus and Shonen Jump with the official English translation.
