“Blue Bloods” Season 9 will be premiering soon, but fans will still need to wait for a while before the fated date. In the meantime, some viewers became alarmed at the prospect of Garrett Moore (Gregory Jbara) being absent from the show. This was quickly addressed, but there’s another change on the horizon for Jamie Reagan (Will Estes).
With “Blue Bloods” Season 9 being a cop drama, there will naturally be plenty of angles for twists and turns to be expected. In the case of the Garrett issue, it would appear that a cast list by Country Living had seemingly left him out. This was quickly amended, however, and the current list now includes the NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, CarterMatt notes.
With that issue dealt with, there’s also the matter of the changes that Jamie Reagan will go through in “Blue Bloods” Season 9. His engagement with Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) puts the matter of job professionalism on the line. Jamie can’t precisely ride with his partner who is also his fiancé and soon to be his wife, now can he?
This is why he is likely to get a new partner in “Blue Bloods” Season 9, with Eddie getting assigned to someone else, Country Living reports. Tom Selleck, who plays Frank Reagan said as much in a June TV Insider interview.
"Frank doesn’t want him to be the first in NYPD history to ride with their fiancée," the actor told the publication. "Most cops would say it could affect one’s judgment. Frank wants his son to be happy, and yet he’s got this hyperactive sense of responsibility."
“Blue Bloods” Season 9 is set to premiere on Sept. 28, 10 p.m. EST. The show will be returning to its usual time slot, which would have been a death sentence for many other shows. Apparently, “Blue Bloods” is just that watchable.
