“Black Clover” chapter 239 is likely to bring a heartbreaking story as most of the Golden Dawn warriors have been defeated by Zenon. The worst part is that most of them have died, and even Yuno was pierced with a sword.
The recap
In the previous chapter 238, fans saw Yuno running to the chambers as Zenon and William Vangeance are fighting. There he witnessed how the villain just defeated the captain of the Golden Dawn with his Bone Magic.
Vangeance was fighting the intruder as he came to get the Arcane mage and bring it to the Spade Kingdom, and since he is apparently losing, Yuno, Klaus and Letoile have gathered to free William from Zenon’s bones, but they failed as their opponent is too strong for them to take.
They can’t break through Zenon’s attacks, but at one point, Yuno finally managed to cut through the bones, but it was just for a brief moment. Yuno was also forced to use his Spirit of Zephyr, but it still can’t get through the bones because they are regenerating at a fast pace that eroding them is impossible.
Zenon uses 55% of his Devil’s power and created a bone sword to destroy Yuno’s Zephyr spell, and the villain succeeded. Ralph saw the destruction at the GD headquarters, and Yuno was on the ground with a sword piercing through him. “Black Clover” chapter 239 will reveal if Yuno lived or not.
Plot summary and predictions
“Black Clover” chapter 239 has been titled “World Tree Magic: Budding of Yggdrasil” or “Seikaiju Kaifuku Mahō Yugudorashiru no Mebuki" in Japanese. This magic has been described as a world tree-based Healing spell.
As per Fandom, this works “with an open grimoire, the user sprouts a massive tree that spreads out over an area and wraps its branches around injured people, lifting them up and healing them. It is capable of treating a large number of people with an array of different injuries.”
With how this magic has been described, it seems that this will used to heal Yuno, thus he likely survived after Zenon’s attack. On the Reddit discussion board, it was also mentioned that Klaus also lived, but nothing was said about Letoile’s fate.
It is likely that after Asta sees what happened to Yuno and the others, he will go after Zenon and take revenge. It was also said that although some of the major characters still lived, the bad news is that the Dark Triads will now go after Captain Yami of the Black Bulls.
Meanwhile, “Black Clover” chapter 239 is set to arrive on Feb. 21. As tweeted by a fan, this chapter will be delayed, so there is no story to be released this week.
