With many instalments and sequels of different movies coming in our way, it is no doubt that the popular film ‘Bad Boys’ will also have its part 3 (and part 4) all bundled up and ready to get started. And yes, you have read it right, not only will there be a 3rd film for Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s film, but there will also be a part 4 which is going to have a 2 ½ year gap in the release of both films.
There were many speculations and rumors about the return of the said film including the said involvement of Will Smith. The Hollywood Reporter is suggesting that the new Bad Boys films will have Will Smith involved in them, but "it's not clear whether he will star, produce or both". Smith has passed on big sequels before, but it was he and Martin Lawrence's double act that were at the heart of the Bad Boys films.
Will Smith, in his interview on Radio 1Xtra said, "I saw Martin [Lawrence] a few weeks ago. I haven't seen him for about two years. We just looked at each other. We hugged. In that moment we knew we were making another ‘Bad Boys’. We're definitely doing another one".
Now that Bad Boys 3 is slated to premiere this coming February 17, 2017, fans are raving for answers as to who would possibly direct and write the said film. It was said that the first choice was Michael Bay, but with the director being busy with numerous films and projects, it might be good to speculate that he will not be available for the movie.
On the other hand, ‘Narc’ and ‘The Grey's Joe Carnahan is said to be stepping aboard and man the ship. It would be fair to say that there has been a bit of progress since then. Bad Boys 4 is set for release in July 2019.
So with all that in hand, it is safe to say that we shall be seeing the hit movie soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
