“American Horror Story” season 8 is set to return after nearly a year of break. It will be on air again very soon for another frightening and hair-raising season that is also filled with political stories.
The show is one of the most anticipated every year and this is because of the twists and turns that every season offers to the viewers. The stories are mind-boggling and the showrunners try to make sure that they will deliver the kind of story that their avid viewers have come to love. To have an idea of what can be expected in “American Horror Story” season 8, here are some spoilers and details we know so far:
Season Title and Theme
“American Horror Story” season 8 is airing with the title “Apocalypse” for this year. As for the theme, it is assumed that it would either be lust or violence, based on an Instagram post by the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy. Those are the two remaining sins in the 9 circles of hell that they have not yet featured, so the guess is likely correct.
He also shared an important spoiler that will surely give fans an idea of what is about to come. Murphy said that “American Horror Story” season 8 is not about the past or present, thus it only means that the eighth installment will be set in the future.
“All I’ll say about it is I want to go to the future – still topical, but the future, which I’ve never done,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s not necessarily as real and grounded as the past season. We’re sort of getting back to Asylum and Coven. That’s the tone of it,” he added.
Will There Be a Crossover?
The answer is “yes.” Fans should watch out for an “American Horror Story” season 8 crossover. Murphy already dropped hints about the "Murder House"/"Coven" subtend and he confirmed this with a tweet. On June 14, he wrote, “The Coven/Murder House AHS crossover season won't be happening next year...because it's happening this year. AHS #8 Witches Rule This September.”
Returning Cast
On Aug. 7, Ryan Murphy took to Twitter to announce who are coming back for “American Horror Story” season 8. He named Taissa Farmiga (Violet Harmon), Gabourey Sidibe (Queenie), Lily Rabe (Sister Mary Eunice McKee), Frances Conroy (Moira O’Hara) and Stevie Nicks. He said that he is very thrilled that the family is together again in the next season’s “Apocalypse.”
Then on Aug. 19, Murphy uploaded a photo of the coven that will appear in “American Horror Story” season 8. It is the first ever image of the reunited cast members while they are on the set and it shows Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Emma Roberts, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe, Taissa Farmiga and Stevie Nicks.
