‘American Horror Story’ season 6 is scheduled to premiere on FX on September. It debuted its cryptic new logo. Rumors suggested that the incoming season may revolve around the occult.
According to Moviepilot, the incoming season for the popular American anthology horror series is scheduled to premiere on September 14, 2016 on FX. The network renewed the series for a sixth season run last November 2015. Confirmed members of the cast include Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Cheyenne Jackson, and Lady Gaga.
Series creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy previously teased, “The interesting thing about the next season is that we’ve been working on two ideas at once, which we’ve never done.” It was also revealed that season 6 would involve of a smaller cast in comparison to its predecessors and will not be as opulent. It would be set in two time periods simultaneously and will feature children.
Although there has been no word of the season’s theme as of the present, the show recently released its latest logo. The image posted on Deadline.com consisted of a red number 6 with a question mark fixed at its bottom against a stark black background.
It was speculated that the logo was a teaser for a storyline possibly focusing on the occult. According to an article on Zimbio, the logo itself is an ambiguous clue. However, its placement on the show’s official Facebook page reveals otherwise.
At first glance, three consecutive logos posted right above the preceding ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ promotional images translated into three red 6s. This may be a clue in itself. It was suggested that season 6 may ultimately deal with the occult or perhaps the antichrist.
In popular culture, three 6s represents the “number of the beast” based on chapter 13 in the Book of Revelation found in the New Testament.
‘American Horror Story’ is a horror television series created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Each season in itself are considered self-contained miniseries that follow a set group of characters. The series has received numerous accolades since it first premiered on October 2011 and continues to be well-received by critics.
