When Amazon held its Prime Day mega sale, the online retailer saw massive success in moving even less known products off their shelves. Clearly, the merchant giant thinks that it can replicate this result by having a Digital Day on December 30th where digital products are on offer for up to 50 percent off. These include e-books, video games, music, and movies.
The big sale event will begin at 3 AM EST, Engadget reports, and feature such items as Titanfall 2 and Destiny: Rise Of Iron. On that note, it hasn’t been clarified whether or not the sale will encompass all digital items or if only digital items will be included without the addition of packages that might contain physical products.
What is clear is that the categories included in the sale will be digital book copies, audio and video files, apps, digital graphic novels and manga, and any mix of these. The sale will only last 24 hours, at which point, customers can get some massive savings that could make some items worth a fraction of their original cost.
Apart from capitalizing on the holiday urge to shop, having a major sale promotion that focuses only on digital products is also a sensible course of action for Amazon, Tech Crunch notes. During the holidays, it’s likely that millions of people were just given new gadgets that could use a little boost in terms of the number of items in their libraries.
These gadgets include video game consoles, smart devices, and even storage units. Naturally, these users would want to fill their electronics with all of their favorite music, movies, and video game titles. As such, a digital product only mega sale like Amazon’s Digital Day would serve to directly compliment the practices of its customers this Christmas season. It’s just a bonus if it turns out as big as Prime Day.
