Will Captain America grace TV land real soon? A new “Marvel’s “Agents Of SHIELD” clip seems to give hope to fans of the American comic book superhero to appear in the TV series.
Comingsoon.net reports that a clip from the show’s Season 4 Episode 11 entitled “Wake Up” picked off from the “Life Model Decoy” (LMD) arc, showing the team’s new threats. In the clip, the obvious Easter Egg tying the series to “Civil War” was the team referencing the fictional East European country of Sokovia, which was the center of the battle between the Avengers and Ultron. In “Civil War,” the friendship between Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Captain America (Chris Evans), and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) was tested after a Sokovia survivor plotted a scheme to break the team apart.
An image clip also showed one SHIELD operative holding “The Sokovia Accords,” which is a set of legal documents guiding governments worldwide regarding military law and enforcement of superheros.
If fans are looking forward to a Captain America cameo, a Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider cameo was reportedly dropped in Season 4. Screencrush said showrunners have ultimately decided to not pursue the storyline of Ghost Rider passing on the Spirit of Vengeance to Robbie Reyes (Gabriel Luna).
“he Spirit of Vengeance is passed from person to person. In that respect, at least our intention was that the Spirit of Vengeance was passed from one person to another. And who passed that on, there are suggestions within the storytelling … That’s as far as we’re going to take that part,” executive producers Jed Whedon and Jeff Bell told IGN.
