Apple’s upcoming operating system update for iPhones and iPads, the iOS 13, will most likely be unveiled in June along with its top new features and improvements. However, fans might have to wait until September before actually trying it on their mobile devices.

Since 2011, Apple has been launching its upcoming iOS updates at the main stage of Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 3-7 at San Jose, California. It is an annual event organized by Apple every June for software-focused products. So, despite the lack of formal announcements, it is safe to assume that iOS 13 will make its first-ever public appearance in June.

When Apple reveals iOS 13 in June, it is possibly still in its early stages of development. It will go through a series of beta testings in the following months. TechRadar suggests the developer beta testing will commence shortly after its announcement at the WWDC. The public beta, on the other hand, is expected to open later that month.

The full version of iOS 13 will most likely be released in September. It usually goes live on the same day that the newest iPhone or iPhones are out in the market.

There are a number of new features for iPhone and iPad users rumored to be included in the iOS 13 roadmap. First, it is highly expected that the dark mode for Apple mobile devices will be available this year following its release on macOS Mojave last year.

MacRumors reports that Apple would also like to show some love for iPad users by introducing new features and updates through iOS 13. For one, the Cupertino, California-based tech giant is expected to add a multi-tab viewing option for tablet users. It is also speculated that iOS 13 will include a multitasking option by allowing users to open two windows simultaneously on a single app.

iOS 13 could also have a series of new emojis to be released later this year. Unicode previously announced the final list of emojis including a person with hearing disabilities, a mechanical arm, an otter, a waffle, hundreds of gender and skin tone variants for the people holding hands emoji, and more.
