GREENVILLE, S.C., Nov. 27, 2016 -- eRAD announced today that it has successfully deployed eRAD PACS and its Mammography Module at Kennedy Health, a multi-hospital system with three acute care hospitals in southern New Jersey.
Kennedy Health is renowned for its clinical outcomes and high-quality healthcare services. eRAD is a subsidiary of RadNet, Inc., and a leading provider of standards-based, web-centric radiology image and data management solutions.
Kennedy Health manages more than 200,000 imaging procedures annually and required a system that could meet the demands of a high-volume environment. To ensure fast throughput and high productivity, it required a PACS that could seamlessly integrate with the existing Radiology Information System (RIS) and speech recognition platform.
eRAD created the necessary HL7 and API interfaces to easily integrate with those systems, as well as an interface for Kennedy Health’s Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) from Mach7 Technologies. “The flexibility of eRAD’s architecture was a driving factor, no question,” said Thomas Balcavage, Senior Vice President of Technology and Program Services for Kennedy Health. “We can pull priors from the VNA and stage them to specific radiologists’ workstations so that they’re ready to view immediately. These sorts of efficiencies make a big difference when you have the kind of volume that we do.”
“This was an exciting project for eRAD to showcase its image routing and workflow tools working alongside a third-party VNA," said Seth Koeppel, Vice President of Sales for eRAD. “Plus, our multi-disciplinary viewing platform will ultimately help Kennedy to move away from viewing silos for its breast imaging needs. This not only saves significantly on costs but increases physician productivity across the enterprise.”
