Alexandra Collins, MSc, is a Research Assistant with the BC Centre on Substance Use and a PhD Candidate in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Her doctoral research explores the intersection of social geographies, housing instability, and experiences of overdose among women who use drugs in Vancouver, Canada. Alexandra obtained a Master of Science degree from SFU in 2015, where she studied the impact of international health funding stipulations on HIV programs in Sierra Leone. Alexandra chairs a Housing and Overdose working group to promote ‘real-time’ knowledge exchange between community organizations and researchers and has published numerous first-author studies in leading public health and addiction journals.
