Associate professor of health law at the University of Cantabria and director of a research group on health law and bioethics (GRIDES) at IDIVAL. PhD in Law. Frequently guest lecturer at different universities in Europe and Latin America. He has an extensive international expertise in lecturing, networking and researching on health law.
Member of the Advisory Board of the European Association of Health Law (EAHL) and Coordinator of the Board of the Ibero-American Health Law Network. He is also leading the legal advisory service at the Health Department of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, Spain, and takes part of the editorial board of different health law journals from Spain, Poland and Brazil
19 years of educational and research experience with a wide list of publications and oral presentations concerning health law topics such as patients´ rights, health care mediation, health systems, drug advertising, health care insurance, medical liability, and the legal status of the patient as a consumer.
