I was awarded my PhD from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal for my work on bivalve ecophysiology in 2014. However, my passion lies in pollution and more recently in microplastic pollution, which is my current focus as a post-doc at Rhodes University. I hope to continue this work, in order to educate the public and find solutions to this global phenomenon. I believe that every plastic consumer has a responsibility to understand the effect poor waste disposal has on the environment and the role we should take in reducing this problem.
