Dr Paul Barnes is a Research Fellow (Urbanisation & Disaster Resilience) in the Institute of Global Development at the University of New South Wales. Formerly, he established the Risk & Resilience Program at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute. He has experience in specialist roles in emergency and risk management at both State and Federal levels and as a tenured academic.
He is a Member of the World Economic Forum Expert Network (Risk & Resilience), a Non-Resident Associate Fellow of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, Member of the UN Global Risk Assessment Framework (GRAF) Working Groups and a Council Member of the International Military Council on Climate & Security (Washington, DC).
