Using a global modelling approach, and linking a marine ecosystem and fisheries model with the results from Earth system models, I explore the key drivers of change over long time scale. I focus on modelling human processes and also analyse large datasets to better understand them. My hope is that this work will make us better prepared to tackle the sustainability challenges we're facing.
