I completed my PhD in Australia in 2013, and was awarded the Chancellor's Medal for Outstanding PhD Thesis. I was then offered a three year Postdoctoral Fellowship by the University of Queensland. In 2016, I successfully applied for an Australian Research Council Grant, under the DECRA program. I have research interests in social movements and social media, tourism development, sustainable development, ethical tourism, poverty alleviation, and the African Diaspora. My current funded project investigates the ethics of trophy hunting in Africa and the impact of social media movements.
