Assistant Professor in Physical Therapy, University of Manitoba
I am an academic hybrid: a physical therapist with a PhD in Sociology. I ask and answer critical questions about health care, particularly how different parts of the health care system produce worse health outcomes for socially stigmatized groups - and how we can address that. My PhD focused on anti-fat stigmatization in primary care, which remains one of my main research foci. Over my academic career, funders include SSHRC, CIHR, The Killam Trusts. I joined the College of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Manitoba in July 2018.
