SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 21, 2017 -- Spigit, the world’s leading provider of ideation management solutions, today announced that Marcus Shingles, CEO of XPRIZE, will deliver the keynote address at Ignite 2018, Spigit’s premier conference that unites innovation leaders and executives from around the world. Ignite 2018 will take place on May 1-2 at The Bently Reserve in San Francisco.
“We created Ignite to bring together the most forward-thinking executives and innovation drivers, those committed to fundamentally transforming business, and we designed the optimal environment for them to learn from one another,” said Scott Raskin, President and CEO of Spigit. “As we prepare for Ignite 2018, we are excited for Marcus Shingles to headline what promises to be the most stellar Ignite conference to date. He represents the spirit of innovation unlike anyone else, and his work spans well beyond a single company. Marcus is dedicated to cultivating the innovators and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.”
In addition to leading XPRIZE, an organization that creates highly leveraged, incentivized prize competitions that push the limits of what’s possible to change the world for the better, Shingles has over 20 years of experience in innovation and entrepreneurship. Prior to XPRIZE, he was a Partner at Deloitte Consulting LLP and leader of Deloitte’s Innovation Group, where he worked with corporate executive teams to better understand and plan for the opportunities and threats associated with disruptive innovation. He also founded a management consulting business, working with Fortune 500 leadership teams on innovation, technology, and analytics initiatives. Additionally, Shingles pioneered a program in partnership with the public school systems in both Los Angeles and Boston to bring “exponential entrepreneurial” training and contemporary thinking to high school students in currently underserved communities.
"I'm excited to be part of this unique gathering of individuals and respected innovation leaders", said Shingles. "In recent years we have seen an unprecedented wave of Innovation being applied to new business models and capabilities, resulting in the full disruption of commercial industries. Just think what we could do if we create that same impact, applied towards the grandest challenges facing humanity? I look forward to having this discussion with the Spigit community... because if there a group of game-changers to engage in this movement, this is it."
Shingles’ Ignite 2018 keynote will take place on May 1, 2018 as more than 200 executives and senior innovation practitioners from the world's most successful companies converge for two days of thought-provoking presentations, networking, and best practice sharing all relating to ideation and innovation. In addition to numerous mainstage presentations from renown thought-leaders, Ignite 2018 attendees will engage in breakout sessions in which they will discuss the challenges of innovation and ideation, as well as specific customer case studies. Participants can also benefit from optional workshops.
