Blizzard just held BlizzCon 2019 earlier this month, but it appears it has more exciting announcements up its sleeve. The video game company just announced a series of additional content arriving in “World of Warcraft: Classic” before the year ends.
‘World of Warcraft: Classic’ update: What features are arriving in the game next month
“World of Warcraft: Classic” is one of the most active titles of Blizzard in the previous months. Just last week, its Honor System went live that Blizzard confirmed boosted the player-versus-player activities in the game. So to not waste this momentum, developers have announced more PVP-oriented content is getting released in the coming weeks.
Blizzard announced via the official message boards for “World of Warcraft: Classic” that players will see two new battlegrounds go live on Dec. 10. Players will once again encounter Warsong Gulch on all the realm in the game along with the Alterac Valley within the week of the said date.
Interestingly, the developer confirmed that the Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley were both initially planned to go live at a later time. But this could be proof that the response to the PVP features from “World of Warcraft: Classic” players was just that good. These battlegrounds were originally slated to arrive next year, along with Blackwing Lair and Darkmoon Faire.
The exact timestamp for the release of Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley will be announced in early December. Meanwhile, Elemental Invasions will also launch in Kalimandor while certain invaders will also appear in some regions of “World of Warcraft: Classic” -- blazing in Un’goro Crater, thundering in Azshara, watery in Winterspring, and whirling Silithus.
‘World of Warcraft’ gets new expansion in 2020
Fans of the “World of Warcraft” franchise have another thing to be excited about in 2020. Blizzard has confirmed that the new expansion titled “Shadowlands” will be released next year after it was announced at BlizzCon earlier this month.
No exact date was given for the “World of Warcraft: Shadowlands,” though, is best to hope for it later in the year. Fans would likely be able to access the game early through a series of beta tests before the official release. Players who pre-purchase Blizzard games are usually prioritized in sending out beta invites. The upcoming expansion is now available, starting at $54.99.
