“Westworld” Season 3 is expected to evolve into a completely different storyline as Dolores is now walking freely in the real world. The disparity of the plot will vary from its predecessor so much that co-creator Lisa Joy even called it “re-piloting.” Jonathan Nolan is in the same boat saying that it’s equally scary and thrilling to transform the show’s story into a potential world-ending one.

“The hosts have a different version of mortality, a different outlook. I think clearly with Dolores, as she's laid out, there is a longer view here, a larger set of goals. They're existential. They span eons. And that's a fascinating level of story to engage in,” Nolan told Hollywood Reported. Another interesting element to follow in “Westworld” Season 3 is how the hosts will develop their own humanity.

Nolan said that they are planning a “very diabolical arc” for Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood/Tess Thompson), which might mean that the host will seek vengeance against her creators. But before she does, “Westworld” Season 3 will first have her free the other hosts from their loops. After that, she may turn her attention to the rest of the world.

However, the other hosts may not be too keen to commit genocide as has been observed from the actions of Teddy (James Marsden). This brings into the narrative the concept of an artificial life form developing its own soul as has been explored by the “Ghost in the Shell” franchise. Nolan’s statements also hint at this fact when he said that apart from the violent nature of the show, they also want to delve into the study of human behavior. “Westworld” Season 3 will undoubtedly have this element incorporated with Dolores among the characters that are to be highlighted.

This sort of concept has also been adapted in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” Where Ultron (James Spader) seeks to eliminate all forms of human life, Vision (Paul Bethany) wishes to understand it. “Westworld” Season 3 will certainly be a treat to watch as Joy and Nolan try to navigate the story into unchartered territories. As for when the third installment will be released, HBO hasn’t announced anything yet but it’s been speculated it will return in 2020, Time reported.
