Wendy’s is said to be releasing two new sandwiches as part of its summer rollout for fresh menu items. Based on the report, the new menu is set to be introduced this month.
According to Eat This, Not That!, Wendy’s has not yet announced its new menu items, but this information was revealed in advance due to a leaked memo. It was said that after the rival fast-food chains, including McDonald's, Taco Bell, and Carl’s Jr.'s, rolled out their own new meals, it is Wendy’s turn to debut new sandwiches, and these will be two premium items.
The leaked memo was said to be circulating on Reddit, and it was originally posted on Aug. 1. The uploaded detail was actually a video that shows an image from an employee training video, and it was captioned “upcoming sandwich."
Readers are speculating that the image was referring to two upcoming Wendy’s sandwiches, including the Big Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger and Chicken Sandwich. It was noted that at this time, these are not on the list of available items on the restaurant’s online menu, so many are assuming this is because these are the next major release from Wendy’s.
The author of the Reddit post added that both of the sandwiches will not be served in the usual buns but Cheddar Cheese bun. The sandwiches are also allegedly set to be served with 3 slices of applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, bacon jam, onion tanglers, and cheddar cream cheese.
And this is not all, prior to the speculations about the Wendy's Big Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger and Chicken Sandwich, there was also a suggestion that the burger joint is also coming up with a new breakfast offering. In a different post on Reddit, another photo showing Wendy’s promotional materials inside one of its stores showed a box with the label that reads: "2-Day Free Croissant Weekend + $1.99 Breakfast CRroissant.”
It was added that the offer was scheduled for Aug. 9 and 16, respectively. The talks were heightened when an actual Wendy’s staff member left a comment on the post saying that their store already received the shipment for the said promotional goods.
Meanwhile, observers said that the introduction of two new sandwiches and breakfast promotions, although not confirmed yet, would really help Wendy’s win against its rivals in the fast-food business. As Mashed explained, although the company maintains its core menu of burgers, diners also wait and go for limited-edition or specialty items, so there is something new throughout the year.
