SHANGHAI, China, Oct. 27, 2016 -- WeeTect today unveiled a new anti-fog photochromic motorcycle visor for high end Powersports that tints quickly on exposure to ultraviolet radiations. This comes after years of R&D on the WeeTect Photochromic Technology (WPT), which has seen the company adopt two distinct manufacturing processes - photochromic coating and co-molding. Furthermore, the WeeTect R&D team has explored the use of decorating layers (ink layer/binder layer) and substrate (resin sheet) in the co-molding process.

Adopting the photochromic coating technology for its OEM clients aims to help them expand their market share in both the American and European markets. Additionally, WeeTect has incorporated additional coatings that will not only ensure the lens provides 100% UV protection, but also possesses both anti-fog and anti-scratch properties.

Unique manufacturing process
The motorcycle visors are injection molded to the right shape and design after which, a special photochromic material is used to make the photochromic coating on its surface.
For better performance, a hydrophilic, anti-fog coating is added to the inner surface of the visor, eliminating fogging phenomenon. The anti-scratch hydrophobic coating on the outer surface of the motorcycle visor protects it against water, oil and dust.
Advanced performance and reliability
These motorcycle visors tint automatically and faster on exposure to changing UV radiations. All the coatings protect the visor from dust, fog and scratches.
