SAN FRANCISCO, April 18, 2018 -- Udemy, the global marketplace for learning and teaching online, today announced the addition of new exclusive courses on the platform that focus specifically on skills development for business leaders. This expansion builds on the already popular leadership category and features courses from business luminaries such as former Netflix chief talent officer Patty McCord and world-famous author Deepak Chopra.
“We’re always looking to grow our course offering to best fit the needs and demands of our students,” said Frank Visciano, vice president of marketplace content and operations at Udemy. “It’s our belief that not all teachers are found in a classroom, and we aim to bring the knowledge of real-world experts directly to our students. The expansion of the leadership category continues this mission by introducing courses built by industry luminaries who share their knowledge gained through years of business experience.”
Udemy’s course selection is fueled by 30,000 instructors contributing their subject-matter expertise in over 65,000 courses on the platform. This expansion will feature a dozen new courses, including:
- Build a Culture of Freedom and Responsibility by Patty McCord. She shares insights from her time as chief talent officer at Netflix, including how to create high-performing cultures, how to practice radical honesty in the workplace, and how to motivate others with challenging work, not promises and perks.
- The Ultimate Disruption Playbook by bestselling author and business strategy expert, Charlene Li. She provides students with an actionable framework, built on research and experience, to help build their own disruption strategy to create change and spur growth.
- The Soul of Leadership with Deepak Chopra by world-renowned author, teacher, and integrative medicine pioneer Deepak Chopra. He shares with students why authentic, empowered, and responsible leadership comes from the soul, and how expanding awareness, harnessing creativity, and mastering emotional freedom are the keys to becoming the great leader you were meant to be.
“I have worked for years both building corporate cultures, and advising companies on how to develop strong and accountable cultures,” said Patty McCord. “Through my course on Udemy, I offer lessons on how students can build a culture of responsibility within their organization. Students will have access to best practices honed through years of working with some of the most successful companies in Silicon Valley.”
These courses, and many others, are currently available within the Udemy leadership category. For more information about becoming a Udemy instructor, please click here.
