SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 17, 2017 -- Ubiquiti Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:UBNT) (“Ubiquiti”) today announced three additions to its UniFi Switch product line: the US-16-XG, US-8-60W and US-8 deliver an expanded range of switching hardware to Ubiquiti’s rapidly growing base of enterprise customers. These new products now allow enterprises to manage the core to the edge of their wired networks through the UniFi Software-Defined Networking (“SDN”) Platform.
Expansions to UniFi Switch Product Line
US-16-XG is a fully-managed, 16-port, 10G fiber switch that enhances network capacity by providing high-bandwidth aggregation connectivity to multiple switches. For fiber connectivity, it features twelve SFP+ ports. For copper connectivity, the US‑16‑XG offers four RJ45 ports that support 10GBASE-T. The US‑16‑XG offers an extensive suite of advanced Layer-2 switching features and protocols, allowing the UniFi SDN Platform to control the core aggregation switch of any network. The US-16-XG has an MSRP of $599.
US-8-60W provides a fully-managed switch in a compact form factor while also delivering PoE over four ports. This switch has four auto‑sensing PoE ports delivering up to 15.4W of power per port. The US-8-60W has multiple use cases, including the edge of a larger network. The US-8-60W has an MSRP of $109.
US-8 provides a fully-managed switch in a compact form factor, useful in a variety of installations. The US-8 can be powered by 802.3af/at, 48V passive PoE, or the included power adapter. The US-8 also provides one port with PoE passthrough to deliver up to 12W of power. The US-8 has an MSRP of $99.
With the addition of these three models, the newly expanded UniFi Switch product family now includes switches with the full range of functionality and size required for any networking need. Enterprises can now leverage the UniFi SDN Platform to manage the entirety of their wired network, ranging from its core (US-16-XG) all the way to workgroup desks (US-8, US-8-60W).
UniFi SDN Platform
The UniFi SDN Platform is an end-to-end system of network devices across different locations — all controlled from a single interface. Designed for convenient management, the UniFi Controller software allows network administrators to configure and monitor the UniFi Switch and other UniFi devices using a graphical user interface. You can download it from www.ubnt.com at no extra charge – there is no separate software, licensing, or support fee.
