Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump fired his campaign manager in a bid to recover his popularity, which has been hit by recent media attacks and setback over his comments for a Hispanic-American judge. Trump’s spokeperson Hope Hicks said the campaign is grateful to Corey Lewandowski for his hard work and dedication.
Trump’s aggressive and abusive strategies that have helped him win the GOP primaries has backfired in recent days, so the whole campaign wants to re-tune. Trump’s daughter Ivanka and wife Melania wanted him to act more presidential, while Mr. Lewandowski insisted that the model shouldn’t be changed. A recent poll suggests that unlike the primaries, he is not immune to strong languages towards ethnic groups anymore.
Insiders say that Corey been a hard worker and is credited with organizing huge rallies early in the race that has helped Donald Trump to win the nomination but as the fight takes center stage and goes national, he is seen as a more novice operative with a clear lack of experience. He was also criticized for his abrasive behavior towards media. In March, Michelle Fields, a reporter covering Mr. Trump, alleged that Mr. Lewandowski had grabbed her arm while she tried to question the businessman. She even showed the bruise marks on her body.
Now, Trump is looking for more professional and experienced operatives who can help his campaign to re-gain the momentum it has lost.
