NEW YORK, April 11, 2016 -- TransPerfect, the world’s largest privately held provider of language and technology solutions for global business, today reported a first quarter revenue total of over $120 million. This is an increase of 13.7% compared to the same period last year, and 23.5% relative to 2014. It marks the largest Q1 revenue sum in TransPerfect’s history and puts the company well ahead of last year’s record-breaking pace.
Coming on the heels of TransPerfect’s best ever year in 2015, one that saw the company top the half-billion-dollar mark for the first time, the company also noted that each month of the quarter was, respectively, the largest January, February, and March total in company history, suggesting that its focus on diversified revenue streams is paying off in the form of consistent, predictable growth.
The company cited the still-increasing popularity of its industry-leading GlobalLink technology as a key factor driving growth, with 126 new GlobalLink clients added in this quarter alone—a 20% increase over 2014. Additionally, strong gains were made by life sciences, retail, software, and legal groups. Notable growth in existing accounts, as well as the ramping up of new clients signed last year, has also helped drive overall results.
“Setting a record coming out of the gates in 2016 is fantastic, and I’m very proud of our team’s accomplishment,” said Phil Shawe, Co-CEO of TransPerfect. “But what’s even more exciting is that if you dig deeper into the numbers, these results aren’t just a huge one-off engagement or a single outperforming group propelling the top-line number. Nearly every team, vertical, and region has contributed, and that bodes well for our continued ability to drive growth and profitability.”
Co-CEO Liz Elting added, “I saw firsthand the hard work our global team put in to reach half a billion in 2015, and I’m delighted to be seeing even more of that dedication on display in 2016. Starting the year off right is a top priority, and keeping our focus on helping our clients achieve their goals will help us carry our momentum onward in 2016.”
TransPerfect expects to announce openings of several new offices in 2016, as well as the creation of hundreds of new jobs in both new and existing locations, taking total worldwide headcount to over 4,000 employees.
