PIGEON FORGE, Tenn., April 27, 2018 -- Meat is on the smoker. Sides are on the grill. Drinks are in the fridge. Smokin’ TITAN1 – for the first time ever – is lit.
To kick off this weekend’s Great TITAN Meat Up, celebrity chefs Cory Bahr and David Rose have prepared a juicy New York strip and rack of ribs on Smokin’ TITAN’s custom Lang BBQ Smoker and Char Grill, officially marking the first time Smokin’ TITAN has been fully utilized for the purpose it was built – as the world’s first fully integrated in-truck-bed smoker and mobile kitchen.
“I am so excited we are finally breaking in this cooking machine,” said Bahr, who is Food Network's “Chopped!” champion, among a laundry list of other accolades. “It’s like my restaurant kitchen on wheels – if my restaurant kitchen was a meat-smokin’ beast!”
Beginning at the crack of dawn Saturday morning, Bahr and Rose will serve as the official judges of the Great TITAN Meat Up, where the competitors – featuring teams of media members from Truck Trend, Internet Brands, AutoGuide, PickupTrucks.com and healthyfatchick.com, as well as a team from the Nissan Canton, Miss. Assembly Plant – will be challenged to out-cook a Nissan executive team.
“Barbecue, smoked meats and pickup trucks – does it get any better?” added Rose, also a Food Network personality and award-winning chef. “Smokin’ TITAN is truly a marriage made in heaven – it’s an honor to start this baby up and be a part of Nissan truck history. This TITAN is definitely smokin’!”
Nissan and barbecuing fans alike can follow The Great TITAN Meat Up on Nissannews.com/TITANMeatUp and on the @NissanUSATrucks Instagram and Facebook page – including a Facebook Live of the conclusion of the event at 4:45 p.m. EST Saturday afternoon – as well as by searching and utilizing the hashtags #SmokinTITAN and #TITANMeatUp.
