The Prentice School Celebrates 30 Years of Helping Students Achieve their Potential with an Education Reimagined Themed Fundraising Gala

N. TUSTIN, Calif., March 16, 2017 -- The Prentice School, a private, nonprofit, nonpublic (NPS) academic school, which offers unparalleled learning experiences to high-achieving students with learning differences, is asking supporters to join them in celebrating the school’s 30-year anniversary with a gala centered around the theme Education Reimagined. The gala will be held on the night of April 8 at the Newport Beach Country Club located at One Clubhouse Drive in Newport Beach.

Since 1986, The Prentice School has transformed the lives of over 5,000 students with learning differences such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, ADHD, anxiety, and visual processing and executive function disorders.  Using evidence-based curriculum and instructional methodologies, a structured literacy approach, multi-sensory instructional strategies, and ongoing progress monitoring, The Prentice School offers an unparalleled experience to students with learning differences who possess average to high intelligence, but whose needs have not been met in a more traditional classroom setting.  Prentice’s comprehensive model includes academics, enrichment, social and emotional supports, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Services—all on one beautiful campus during the school day in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.

We will also honor a long history of dedicated teachers who have helped us to achieve success in working with our students for over 30 years.”

Prentice is also honored to have Steven Wagner, Group President of Marketing Services at Experian, as its keynote speaker. Mr. Wagner, who himself struggled in school during his early years due to a learning difference, will speak to why a Prentice education is so important for students who are not able to achieve success in a traditional classroom.  Steven Wagner says, “I never understood when I was younger how different my learning style was from others.  Only that I consistently disappointed my teachers and parents with my efforts.  Prentice has provided a place where my sons can find a better path; one that supports their unique needs and celebrates their unique abilities.  I am proud to be part of the Experian family that supports the mission of Prentice.”   

Set to start at 5:30 p.m., the gala offers a variety of sponsorship opportunities for individuals and corporations who are interested in helping The Prentice School continue their quest in serving students in grades K through 8 with learning differences achieve a first-rate, comprehensive and successful academic learning experience. 
Event sponsorships range from $1,000 to $25,000 and offer an array of benefits, including premium table locations and sponsorship recognition at the event and on the gala website. Individual tickets are priced at $250 and early RSVP is advised.
