“Tekken 7” Season 2 is introducing several changes to the beloved franchise in order to keep things fresh and its players interested, Otaku Art reported. However, one notable game mechanic addition is receiving negative reviews from gamers.
The mechanic in question is the wall bounce. What this does is enable players in “Tekken 7” Season 2 to continue their combo if they manage to push their opponent back against the wall and hit them hard enough so they rebound from the hard surface. While the mechanic itself is an interesting concept, gamers are complaining about the graphics of the bounce, saying it’s a tad bit “cartoony” for the franchise.
What’s more, the wall bounce will force players to stay away from the edge of the map to avoid getting punished by this new gameplay. In the past, being cornered is bad enough as it limits the mobility of a player that is being pushed back. But with the addition of the wall bounce mechanic in “Tekken 7” Season 2, it’s going to be even harder as combos being unleashed can be extended and will most likely take a lot from the health bar of the unfortunate player.
Aside from the wall bounce, “Tekken 7” Season 2 will also incorporate some new moves for certain characters to buff them up and give them some playing time especially on the competitive side of things. The next season will also introduce six more characters to the game, three of whom were revealed while three were kept under wraps to increase players’ anticipation.
The revealed characters for “Tekken 7” Season 2 are Anna Williams, Lei Wulong, and Negan, from the post-apocalyptic drama “The Walking Dead.” The trailer for the next installment of the franchise features a lot of characters.
From the electric blows of Heihachi Mishima to the devastating combos of Devil Jin, the trailer showcases a lot of moves both fresh and classic. The “Tekken 7” Season 2 is slated to drop on Sept. 6 and will reveal how players will react to the changes heralded by this next update.
