BOWIE, Md., Jan. 08, 2017 -- Taber Chiropractic accepts many major insurance plans for their chiropractic care. Accepted insurance plans include United Health Care, Aetna, Kaiser, FEP, Medicare, and BCBS. Additionally, the practice accepts many major auto insurances and workers' comp benefits. For patients without insurance, ChiroHealthUSA provides participants who join with a discount program for those who pay for their visits in cash.
Insurance coverage for chiropractic treatments will vary by insurer. Most plans cover care for acute conditions and a deductible or copay will apply in most cases. Acute conditions include injuries sustained due to an accident, a fall, or another incident. When long-term care is needed for chronic conditions, patients will need to talk with their insurance companies to determine benefits. However, some insurance companies do not cover maintenance or wellness visits.
According to Dr. Theodore Taber of Taber Chiropractic, "Most insurance plans now provide some type of coverage for chiropractic care. In our practice, we sometimes find that the covered care is for short term acute care but not long term care. Our goal is to work with our clients and their insurance companies to ensure that they are able to maximize their benefits so that they can receive the level of care needed. Chiropractic can make a huge difference in one's quality of life and we want to be sure our patients are able to take advantage of their insurance coverage."
Even if a patient's insurance does not cover chiropractic care, Taber Chiropractic can work with patients to ensure that chiropractic care is within their financial reach. ChiroHealthUSA is a discount program for cash, out of network, and otherwise uninsured patients. Taber Chiropractic works with ChiroHealthUSA to provide discounts on most chiropractic services. ChiroHealthUSA is not an insurance program, but joining can reduce costs associated with a lack of coverage. Taber Chiropractic does not accept Cigna, VA, Medicaid, or Federal WC insurance plans, but patients who don’t qualify for coverage can still benefit from the ChiroHealthUSA program.
Dr. Diane Taber sees the ChiroHealthUSA network as a benefit to uninsured or underinsured patients. "Some of our patients truly benefit from long-term chiropractic services such as spinal alignments, massage therapy, or even lifestyle coaching. Through the ChiroHealthUSA network, patients can take advantage of standard discounts industry wide. As a practice, we are very proud of our involvement in this program to ensure that our customers have the best care possible at the best rates."
