DENVER, June 08, 2017 -- Transwestern’s Denver office today announces it raised more than $10,000 at its second annual fundraiser on May 17 to support the firm’s national philanthropy partner, Make-A-Wish®. Approximately 150 people attended the Brews for Benefit event at the Baker St. Pub & Grill, where 30 percent of the proceeds went directly to Make-A-Wish to help grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The Brews for Benefit happy hour was one event in a series of fundraisers during May that included a guacamole contest and a yoga class to bring the full amount raised to $10,400.
“I am truly proud of the generosity of our team members to make a difference in these kids’ lives,” said Lee Wallis, Managing Senior Vice President at Transwestern. “I am extremely grateful to everyone at Transwestern who donated and contributed their time and auction items, as well as our outstanding local representatives from Make-A-Wish Colorado, Jeff Krebs and Lauren Beede.”
Brews for Benefit was sponsored by Powers Brown Architecture and Bisnow. Transwestern Managing Director Brad Cohen and his band, The Fax Axel, volunteered their musical talents while attendees bid on silent auction items donated from Transwestern team members, including a VIP pass to the Denver Broncos training camp, a foursome round of golf at a private club in Denver, Rockies tickets, and extra paid time off.
