HOUSTON, Nov. 17, 2017 -- Sysco Corporation (NYSE:SYY) today announced that the board of directors has approved a 9 percent increase in the quarterly cash dividend to $0.36 per share from the current $0.33 per share. The new dividend is payable on Jan. 26, 2018, to common stockholders of record at the close of business on Jan. 5, 2018.
“Sysco is committed to returning value to our stockholders,” said Bill DeLaney, Sysco’s chief executive officer. “Sysco has paid a cash dividend every quarter since our founding as a public company in 1970. Since then, the dividend has increased 49 times.”
