Colorado Flights Alliance announced this week that American Airlines (AA) will continue summer air service from Phoenix (PHX) to Telluride/Montrose (MTJ) through Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 5.
“This additional service from Phoenix couldn’t have come at a better time for those planning vacations late in the summer,” said Matt Windt, vice president of Sales and Marketing at Telluride Ski Resort. “Thanks to increased demand during these late summer dates, this increase reflects the ongoing commitment for the Colorado Flight Alliance to providing more convenience to guests from the Phoenix area as well as guests from southern California who connect through Phoenix on their way to Telluride.”
AA is also offering daily flights (year-round) between Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Montrose (MTJ). For more options and flexibility, AA also provides service from Dallas to Grand Junction (GJT) and Durango (DRO) with multiple daily flights year-round.
Additionally, United Airlines will offer daily flights between Chicago (ORD) and Montrose (MTJ) and Houston (IAH) and Montrose (MTJ) through Labor Day as well.
The extended air service also means more opportunities for guests to enjoy Telluride’s array of events in the two weeks leading up to the holiday weekend, such as:
- Jamestown Revival with Joe Pug, Aug. 18 at Club Red.
- Mind Blown at The Madeline, with Magician Ty Gallenbeck. Aug. 26 and Sept. 2, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (MT)
- Evening with Ken Burns, Aug. 27, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (MT)
- 43rd Annual Telluride Film Festival, Sept. 1-4.
- Around the World Dining Series, Aug. 22 and Sept. 5, for Telluride Ski & Golf Club members only.
