TUCSON, Ariz., Dec. 13, 2017 -- A brilliantly colorful holiday cactus garden has just sprung up at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, making for the kind of eye candy that few could ever imagine.
The gardeners behind this sugary spectacle are a team of ten resort chefs and culinarians, and their vibrantly edible landscape is made exclusively with multi-colored fondant and candy. The edible Cactus Garden at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain took ten days to assemble, and it will be on display at the Tucson-area resort until December 28, 2017. It was created with 300 pounds of fondant, 600 pounds of brown sugar, 1,000 pounds of candy pieces and several tons of whimsy.
This dazzling garden serves as the sweet desert landscape for a life-size, Dine-In Gingerbread House which the resort opened to diners earlier this week. The Dine-In Gingerbread House hosts lunch and dinner throughout the holiday season and, for this first time, now enjoys its own delectable “green space” that is anything but pure green. Viewing of both the Dine-In Gingerbread House and the Edible Cactus Garden is available to the public and may be enjoyed in the lobby area of The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. For dining reservations within the Gingerbread House, please call 520-572-3401.
