Subaru's Solterra EV has emerged as the most heavily discounted vehicle in the U.S., offering buyers savings of over $5,500. This surge in discounts has driven a 66% increase in sales, making Solterra the most popular EV in its price category.
Subaru’s Solterra EV Offers Unmatched Savings in the U.S., Leading Discounts Across All Vehicle Types
As bargains intensify, many vehicles are sold for thousands less than their sticker prices. Subaru's Solterra EV is currently the most heavily discounted vehicle in the United States, encompassing electric and gas-powered cars, per Electrek.
After introducing its first EV in the United States last year, Subaru upgraded the 2024 model with new features and quicker charging.
Solterra's initial price of $46,340 is already below the average transaction price (ATP) for a new vehicle in the United States. The ATP for new cars in the United States was $48,401, a 3.1% decrease from its apex in December 2022 ($49,929), as reported by Kelley Blue Book.
Subaru's Solterra is currently the most discounted vehicle available in the United States, following the implementation of significant new incentives. Additionally, this encompasses automobiles that operate on gasoline.
Subaru's EV is the most popular, as evidenced by the latest data from Consumer Reports. Solterra variants are currently priced 12% less than the manufacturer's suggested retail price. That would imply that customers are purchasing Solterras for approximately $40,800, a savings of more than $5,500.
The research examined the most recent transaction data from TrueCar to determine the areas in which purchasers are experiencing the most significant savings. Each of the top ten models is sold at a price significantly lower than its sticker price, less than $50,000.
Luxury Models Face Steep Discounts as Subaru’s Solterra Sees Soaring Sales and Competitive Lease Offers
The report observed that more costly models like BMW and Mercedes-Benz were subject to more significant discounts. Mercedes' EQB was the second-most discounted at 11% off MSRP. The opening price of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB is $53,050.
Unsurprisingly, Solterra sales are increasing in the United States, as it is the most affordable vehicle. Last month, Subaru sold 1,261 Soltera models, a 66% increase from the 758 units sold in the previous year. Subaru has sold 6,646 Solterras in the United States as of July.
Subaru's Solterra is currently one of the most advantageous lease offers in the United States, with leases commencing at $329 per month for 36 months and requiring no upfront payment.
The 2024 Solterra boasts a 72.8 kWh battery that can travel 227 miles. It is also capable of rapid charging (10% to 80%) in approximately 35 minutes, allowing you to resume your adventure in approximately half the time required in the previous model.
The Solterra is equipped with a DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System and EyeSight Driver Assist as standard, despite being based on Toyota's bZ4X.
The Solterra is equipped with Subaru's most sophisticated infotainment system, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
According to Subaru, the Solterra offers more cargo capacity than the Hyundai IONIQ 5 for storing bicycles, camping equipment, luggage, and other items.
