TACOMA, Wash., Feb. 11, 2016 -- An 11th staff member at Spectrum has earned the Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) credential from the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), a division of the American Retirement Association (ARA). The credential is ASPPA’s highest recognition of trade mastery and academic achievement in plan administration, compliance and ERISA consulting.
"We are very proud of all of our CPCs at Spectrum," commented Yannis P. Koumantaros, Managing Director of Client Engagements at Spectrum. "Spectrum's mission statement is focused around both the Client and our Staff, which we believe gives us a unique advantage over competitors. To employ 25 staff and have 11 CPCs must be the highest per capita CPC rate in the nation for firms with more than 10 employees," added Koumantaros.
ASPPA could not be immediately reached for comment to confirm this fact, but preliminary search capabilities for "CPC" in the ASPPA membership directory show as of this release between 800 and 900 CPC members nationwide, implying that Spectrum employs over 1% of the nation's highest Certified Pension Consultant credential.
In earning the credential, Spectrum staff have completed a rigorous educational program which, in addition to the prerequisite Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) coursework, required several modules and a demanding examination unique to the CPC. Along with other advanced areas, the curriculum covered investments, distributions and loans, and fiduciary topics in great technical depth.
These 11 staff members join an elite group of distinguished professionals with demonstrated excellence in the field, and with expertise on the many intricacies of the design, financial and fiduciary aspects of plans. At Spectrum, the following staff hold around 40 ARA credentials alone:
