Sony is expected to announce a new lineup of Xperia phones, and the Xperia 10 IV may have leaked already. But it seems there are not that many changes to expect, especially in terms of design.
The long-time noted leaker Steve “OnLeaks” Hemmerstoffer has shared renders (via Zoutons.ae) allegedly showing the design of the unannounced Xperia 10 IV. At first glance, the phone might look quite familiar since its overall appearance is somewhat identical to its predecessor.

Sony is expected to retain the boxy design in the Xperia 10 IV. The size of the bezels also appears similar. On the back, a pill-shaped camera bump is still present with three sensors, while the flash is placed above. Sony is unlikely to switch to an in-display fingerprint sensor since a side-mounted scanner on the right side appears in the renders. The power button is seen above the fingerprint sensor, while the SIM tray is located on the left side of the device.
The Xperia 10 IV reportedly sports a 6-inch flat display, which is the same as its predecessor as well. The upcoming phone’s dimensions are said to be 153.3 x 67.3 x 8.4mm (9.0mm with the camera bump). While these are not the exact measurements of the Xperia 10 III, the changes are so insignificant that they are likely unnoticeable.
The leak did not offer other details about the Xperia 10 IV’s technical specifications. But the report speculates there will be similarities with the Xperia 10 III as well. For one, the unannounced device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 690 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Three rear-facing cameras are shown in Xperia 10 IV renders, but specific details about the hardware are not revealed in the leak. There are also other interesting details in the “expected” specs, including the use of Android 11 off-the-box and a 4000mAh battery. It is worth noting that the Xperia 10 III predecessor already shipped with Android 11, and Android 12 has already been out for several months. Xperia fans should then take this with a grain of salt. Meanwhile, the device is rumored to launch in mid-2022.
