Skin in the Game: Robinhood Adds $25 Million in Bitcoin to Corporate Balance Sheet

Robinhood has formally included $25 million worth of Bitcoin (BTC) to its corporate balance sheet as part of a strategic change toward crypto alignment that signals first direct business treasury allocation to the cryptocurrency. Senior Vice President and GM of Crypto and International at Robinhood, Johann Kerbrat, confirmed the acquisition on October 7, 2026, during the Digital Asset Summit Asia / Token2049 conference in Singapore. Directly on Robinhood's corporate balance sheet, the treasury position is totally apart from the roughly $25 billion in customer-owned digital assets now maintained in custody by the company.

Although Robinhood's $25 million budget is symbolic given its $100 billion market valuation and $4 billion liquidity reserve, the action has great signal value. Kerbrat said the acquisition is more of a statement of alignment with the larger cryptocurrency world and a show of faith in Bitcoin's long-term utility rather than something meant to significantly affect the company's growth path. Standard quarterly SEC filings, not ad hoc updates, should be used for any future company assignments.

Robinhood joins a rising group of openly traded businesses utilizing BTC for balance sheet diversification, headed by companies like Micro Strategy, by creating a direct Bitcoin treasury reserve. Robinhood's choice to use its own funds underlines its dedication to digital assets beyond just serving as a middleman for client transactions volume as one of the biggest retail brokerage on-ramps in the United States.
