XRP surged more than 4% today, beating the broader cryptocurrency market. Speculation over Robinhood’s potential relisting of XRP has fueled excitement, although some users still lack access.
XRP Jumps Over 4% in Market
With a gain of over 4% earlier today, the XRP cryptocurrency managed to beat the market as a whole. Notably, out of the top ten cryptocurrencies, only XRP ended up with a positive return.
The speculations that Robinhood is relisting XRP have been circulated in the community, which is likely to explain the recent price surge.
XRP Added to Robinhood's List
According to Vet, who runs the XRP Ledger dUNL validator, the famous trading and investment program just added XRP to its list of supported cryptocurrencies. It is important to note that the token is not managed by Ripple, as he emphasized to the corporation.
Nonetheless, a number of people on social media expressed frustration that they were still unable to purchase XRP via the app.
XRP Access Limited to EU
The token appears to be exclusively available to eligible inhabitants of the EU at this time. No official announcement has been made by Robinhood on their plan to list the XRP cryptocurrency.
According to U.Today, XRP was one of several cryptocurrencies for which Robinhood users could set up price alerts and access market data as early as January 2018.
Following Grayscale's announcement of the development of an XRP Trust, the top cryptocurrency asset manager globally, there have been rumors of a Robinhood IPO.
Grayscale Gives XRP a Second Chance
Following the SEC's infamous case against Ripple in 2021, Grayscale disposed of such a product. Grayscale is willing to give XRP another shot now that the token's legal status is clearer.
Remember that in 2023, XRP was relisted on Coinbase and other exchanges. To further legitimize XRP, the Chicago-based derivatives trading giant CME added support for the price index in June.
