Teasers for the “Rocket League” season 2 have been telling players to “get loud.” This appears to be a reference to an all-new feature called Player Anthems that will add more music to the gameplay experience.

‘Rocket League’ season 2 gameplay: What is Player Anthems

Aside from the new arena, vehicle, and decals arriving to “Rocket League” this month, Rocket Pass season 2 is also bringing an all-new customization option called Player Anthems. In a blog post, Psyonix said this new feature will let players “pick [their] favorite music” that will be played in the arena whenever they make a goal, an Epic Save, and become the match MVP.

It appears, however, that the choices will be limited to the official soundtrack of “Rocket League.” One of the first records available on the Player Anthems is Kaskade’s “Flip Reset.” Note that Psyonix promised to reveal more information in the future about Player Anthems, so this could be a hint at a wider variety of music.

Is the Rocket Pass Premium worth it?

Of course, the heart of every new “Rocket League” season is the arrival of new vehicle, arena, and decals. The new Neon Fields arena will be open for everyone as soon as the new season starts on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Players can find it on Online Playlists and for Private Matches as well.

Players with the Rocket Pass Premium will have the advantage of immediately unlocking the new vehicle R3MX. Otherwise, players need to complete Tier 1 to acquire the car. It also comes with an upgraded form, R3MX GXT, that will be available at Tier 70.

Rocket Pass Premium, as the name suggests, is not free. Players will have to shell out 1,000 “Rocket League” Credits to get it, but it also unlocks exclusive Weekly and Season Challenges. This means paying customers get a chance to move up Tiers faster than those who only have the free Rocket Pass. This paid content will also give players access to Pro Tiers once they complete Tier 70.

In-game Credits have real money value starting at $4.99 for a bundle of 500 Credits. Before players raise their eyebrows to the paid content and its perks, note that “Rocket League” became a free-to-play title last September on PC, PS4, and Xbox One as well as its upgraded versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
