“Riverdale” Spoilers: New Promo Shows Valerie Quitting The Band Over Josie Fallout, Betty Visits Her Troubled Sister Peggy, Confronts Father About Jason Blossom’s Death

Cole Sprouse plays Jughead on The CW's 'Riverdale'

Are Josie and the Pussycats over because of Archie? That, and many more, appears to be based on a recent promo for Episode 6 of The CW’s “Riverdale.” The episode, titled “Faster, Pussycats! Kill! Kill!” shows the growing rift between Josie (Ashleigh Murray) and Valerie (Hayley Law) coming to a boiling point, GoshTV reported.

Fans of the show would recall how each band member reacts to Archie’s (KJ Apa) musical aspirations. As Josie keeps her icy demeanor, Valerie was a friend, and even recommending another mentor following Ms Grundy’s (Sarah Habel) departure from the town. Josie, who’s very fixated with the band’s road to stardom, could see Archie as a scapegoat as the stress of leading the band takes a toll on her, with the Riverdale Variety Show coming up. In one scene, Valerie is seen saying “I quit!”, most probably after a huge fight with Josie. Although Josie is seen later on facing what could be the Variety Show crowd, it is not made known if all three members of the band performed.

Meanwhile, the biggest revelation so far in the series will apparently lead Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) to visit Betty’s troubled sister Polly (guest star Tiera Skovbye) at the mental institution, Comicbook.com said. However, the promo showed Betty and Jughead taking a side trip leading to a car full of Jason Blossom’s (Trevor Stines) things, which was later burned by a hat-wearing, mysterious person (who looks uncannily like the same one who thrashed Sheriff Keller’s home and took evidence regarding Jason’s murder case. Although Betty has been banned by both her parents to visit her sister, the promo showed that the blonde sleuth might have uncovered more what she can take, as it had led her to questioning her father (Lochlyn Munro) if he did kill his own daughter at the end of the clip.
