CHICAGO, Sept. 27, 2016 -- Orla Leonard, MSc, CPsychol of RHR International, the premier firm in the development of top management leadership, will address the NYSE Governance Services’ Annual Boardroom Summit on Thursday, October 6. Her topic is “Sustaining Boardroom Performance: How Great Boards Stay Great.” In the session, she will present findings from RHR‘s research program on how great boards continually renew themselves to sustain a high level of governance contribution. More than 620 respondents representing 900 boards provided insight on how great boards stay great—a continuation of the research done on this topic in 2014.
“A constant and open dialogue is key to board effectiveness,” says Leonard. “Great boards make an effort to remain aligned with their company’s strategy as it evolves. Yearly evaluation of where the company is headed in the short- and longer term allows boards to define the skillsets they need to get there.”
Orla Leonard joined RHR International in 2000. She is a partner in the London office and serves as practice leader—Senior Team Effectiveness. Her duties include spearheading research, coordinating efforts with clients, and supporting consultants in the field. Orla has nearly 20 years of experience working with executives to identify and develop the human potential in their organizations, with a particular focus on the beverage, fast-moving consumer goods, pharmaceutical, and professional services industries. She has worked across Europe, Asia, Australia, the United States, and Canada. She works regularly with CEOs and their teams to upgrade the performance of their operating boards.
