Chicago, April 03, 2018 -- Q-Centrix adds submission to CathPCI v5 – the latest version of this National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR®) program – to its solutions capabilities for managing and reporting healthcare quality data on behalf of hospitals.
This new version of the registry will feature more than 200 new elements to further improve care quality and patient outcomes. This includes elements aimed at gathering greater patient history detail and expanded assessment of procedures performed throughout the treatment process.
“It’s exciting to be a part of this new endeavor to improve the quality of data and, ultimately, patient outcomes with the NCDR,” said Brian Foy, Q-Centrix Chief Product Officer. “We are truly pleased to deliver to the market a solution capable of seamless integration with this substantially enhanced registry.”
The Q-Centrix Universal Registry Solution manages the entire registry-encounter lifecycle – from patient admissions and data capture to submission and reporting – in an easy, efficient and real-time manner. It exists as an application within the company’s broader quality technology platform called Q-Apps®. The approach allows Q-Centrix’s patent-pending quality solutions technology to augment the clinical intelligence and efficiency of the industry’s largest and broadest team of nurse-educated Quality Information SpecialistsSM– more than 800 quality experts acting as virtual extensions of quality departments within more than 450 hospitals. These experts review, analyze, and manage quality data through to submission.
“We firmly believe that it’s the unification of modern technology, lean processes, and – most importantly – elite people that comprise the unique formula to effective quality reporting,” said Foy. “It’s this approach that allows us to obtain important registry certifications, like the CathPCI v5 submission authorization, which we are then pleased to leverage as a key benefit to our hospital partners.”
Q-Centrix began submitting data to CathPCI v5 on behalf of approximately 150 hospitals when the updated program went into effect April 1. More than 80% of those hospitals participate in at least one other cardiovascular care-related registry using a Q-Centrix solution. This creates an opportunity for improved efficiency by reducing redundancies in data collection and reporting across multiple quality programs, which can also lead to increased cost savings for participating hospitals.
Since launching, the Q-Centrix Universal Registry solution has swiftly grown its submission certifications. It currently is authorized for submission to eight registries across four major registry suites or individual programs, including these additional American College of Cardiology (ACC) NCDR programs: ACTION; ICD; and AFib Ablation.
ACC established the CathPCI Registry in 1998. The last version, CathPCI v4, was implemented in July 2009. More about CathPCI is available at https://cvquality.acc.org/NCDR-Home
