Princess Diana’s Shocking Claim: Prince Charles Can’t Be a King as He Is Not Well-Suited to Rule The British Monarchy

Princess Diana is not around anymore, but she remained powerful up to this day. The secrets of her marriage and relationship to the royal family also continued to be revealed to the public even after her death as she was able to leave accounts and videos of her confessions that contain shocking claims.

Her exact words when narrating about her life with Prince Charles at the Kensington Palace were made into books and documentaries thus the public has known the truth about how the first in line to the throne has betrayed his wife by having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, the prince’s ex-girlfriend turned mistress. According to the Daily Star, Princess Diana was interviewed in 1985 and said that her husband did not want to be a king and added that he is not fit for the job anyway. When the princess died, her butler Paul Burrell confirmed in a documentary that was released after Di’s death, that the People’s Princess did not think that Prince Charles will ever be a king.

“I know it's his right, I know he's heir to the throne, I know he's waited his whole life to do it, but his wife said: ‘My husband is not fit for the top job,’” Burell said in the interview. “I don't think he will get there and I think by the time the Queen dies, she will die aged 101, 102, or 103, maybe.”

While this was the opinion of Princess Diana since she knows Prince Charles and his personality, Burrell pointed out that age is also a factor why the Prince of Wales may not experience sitting on the throne as the ruler of the British Monarch. Queen Elizabeth may live until she is over a hundred in age, and by this time, her son would have turned 80; thus, he may be able to perform his job well as a king.

This is why there are reports that it is likely that Prince William will take over the throne once Queen Elizabeth vacates the position when she dies or decides to retire. The people also want the Duke of Cambridge to be the next king and just skip Prince Charle’s appointment. But then again, the decision will still be up to the royal family when the time comes that the Queen had to step down.
