Prince Harry Revelation: Truth About Duke, Meghan Markle's 'Escape Place' Unveiled

A popular rumor about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been debunked in a new book.

A new book debunks a notion "spread by a friend of the Royal Family" suggesting Prince Harry has "an escape place" to get away from Meghan Markle. The Sun reported in May that the Duke of Sussex apparently had a room at the San Vicente Bungalows "set aside" for him to get away from his wife Meghan and their children Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 1.

Popular Prince Harry Rumor Debunked in New Book

According to a royal insider, per Express UK, Prince Harry stayed at the lodging, which is a two-hour drive from his Montecito estate, as "an escape place." The reports surfaced after the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary but did not share any images of the occasion on social media.

However, "Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan” and the “Making of a Modern Royal Family” author Omid Scobie stated that the "rumor being spread by a friend of the Royal Family" is false. “I know a lot of people that know them (Harry and Meghan), that are in their world, or their space, and I’ve just never come across anything of the sort,” the royal biographer wrote in his new book.

Omid also mentioned that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a “massive guesthouse” on their property. “If you wanted to spend a night away, you don’t have to go as far as some janky hotel in Montecito town center,” he stated.

For starters, Omid makes various assertions in his new book, including Harry's apparent attempt to reconcile with his brother, Prince William, which "got nowhere." “I’m ready to move on past it. Whether we get an apology or accountability, who knows? Who really cares at this point?” he quoted Prince Harry talking to a friend.

Omid also said that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have had "almost zero communication" since late 2019. "There's no going back, even in her relationship with Harry," the close pal of Meghan and Prince Harry added of Princess Kate.

Prince Harry Revealed One Day He Drew Strength from Prince William

Meanwhile, On the "worst day" of his life, the funeral of his late mother, Princess Diana, Prince Harry confessed he "drew strength" from his older brother, Prince William, per Express Daily. The Duke of Sussex made the revelation in his autobiography, “Spare.” On September 6, 1997, Harry was approximately 13 years old, and William was 15 when they had to walk together behind the late Princess of Wales's coffin during the procession to Westminster Abbey.

However, Prince Harry recalled that another possibility had been investigated and was eventually rejected. "Willy would walk alone. He was 15, after all. Leave the younger one out of it. Spare the Spare. This alternative plan was sent up the chain. Back came the answer. It must be both princes. To garner sympathy, presumably,” the husband of Meghan Markle wrote.

“Uncle Charles [Spencer] was furious. But I wasn't. I didn't want Willy to undergo an ordeal like that without me. Had the roles been reversed, he'd never have wanted me—indeed, allowed me—to go it alone,” Prince Harry went on. During the macabre stroll, Harry expressed his emotions with their father, King Charles, grandfather, Prince Philip, and their uncle Charles (Diana's brother).

"I remember feeling numb. I remember clenching my fists. I remember keeping a fraction of Willy always in the corner of my vision and drawing loads of strength from that. Most of all I remember the sounds, the clinking bridles and clopping hooves of the six sweaty brown horses, the squeaking wheels of the gun carriage they were hauling. (A relic from the First World War, someone said, which seemed right, since Mummy, much as she loved peace, often seemed a soldier, whether she was warring against the paps or Pa)," Prince Harry said.
